The school reconstruction project of the Scandinavian Children’s Mission is in its final stage. By mid-July all the work is supposed to be finished.
By that time, the Scandinavian Children's Mission has both renovated and built new a total of 105 classrooms in 7 Elementary schools and one High School. SCM estimates that altogether approximately 10’000 children will use these classrooms for years to come.
Now they are making new plans for an intervention, which will be in skills education/training, livelihood projects in livestock and agriculture. In addition SCM will also continue working for vulnerable children in the typhoon stricken areas. SCM recently had discussions with the Mayor of Tacloban in this regards and they hope to get their work started in July or August.
